If we can prove there was life on Mars:

Mars fossils are older than reliable Earth fossils.

Earth to Mars transfer is unlikely due to Earths high atmospheric pressure.

Meteorite may have carried sub-surface organisms from Mars to Earth after Mars atmospheric pressure dropped.
